A picturesque resort property. It's on the quiet southern end of the Chaweng beach. Highly recommended for a relaxing getaway, for families or couples. Resort is a cluster of traditional looking cottages with porches and gardens. The design and decor of the property is quite elegant. We had adjacent interconnected cottages (112 & 113). These are located right over the lobby. Our rooms did not have a pool view. They also have entertainment organized in the evening - traditional dances, fireworks etc. Direct beach access. Hotel has a seven eleven, a coin operated laundry and fruit vendor a few metres from the entrance.
This is a really lovely hotel! We booked last minute as the original hotel we were staying at was definitely not what we was expecting! The Anavana, however, definitely did! It small boutique hotel with amazing staff and reminded me of a retreat in Bali. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting this area - at the quieter end of the main beach but still plenty of shopps and places to eat right outside the front door. Also, taxis into the main town run up and down the main road all day long so easy to get around.
We had a bungalow next to the kitchen for two days. It smelled musty, but after we "complained" we were given another bungalow. Great service!!! The staff actually deserves 12 out of 10 points!!!

Great place, polite staff, the sea is just a stone's throw away. There were enough sunbeds for everyone, towels were provided. The rooms are a bit tired, but overall everything is clean. They cleaned every day. Wi-Fi in the room, on the beach, in the restaurant. The territory is well-kept, very green. We booked without meals, there are places to eat around and Central Samui is nearby, it's a 5-minute drive away, 20 minutes on foot. There is a 7/11 and a cool place selling fruit nearby. Overall, everything was great.
This is a hotel for relaxation, privacy with the sea and nature. A typical island hotel (similar to those in the Maldives), small, only 24 houses, located in greenery and silence. The sea is 10 meters from the restaurant, a beautiful beach with clean sand and water. Quite extensive, you can walk a lot. Then, leaving the hotel you find yourself on a street with solid restaurants and massage rooms, 20 minutes walk and you are in a shopping and entertainment center. You will not get bored! The staff is attentive, cheerful. This hotel is not for those who like a large pool, a lot of people, slides, performances every evening and music during the day in all parts of the hotel and the beach. Good luck!

Although the hotel is small, each room is an independent cabin. The bathroom is semi-open-air, which is very convenient for drying clothes. There are not many guests in the hotel, so it is very quiet. The breakfast is also rich and delicious.
Our nine-night stay (end August) at Anavana was fantastic. The staff were absolutely superb: front desk, restaurant, bar, beach, chambermaids and all the support staff. The accommodation was wonderful. The food and drinks were great. One important thing to note: this is right on the beach (see pics: bungalows don’t front the beach but the furthest bungalow is maybe 40m max) and the beach is one of the best you can imagine. It’s clean, with powdery white sand and turquoise water (no rocks or seaweed whatsoever). If you want to front onto a perfect beach, this could be the one. Anavana is at the southern end of Chaweng beach, which is the quieter end with the better sand and sea. It’s about 20mins walk up the beach to the noisier and more active part of Chaweng beach proper. So Anavana is “far from the madding crowds” but it’s still pretty busy, eg the occasional jetski whizzing past, it’s Chaweng after all. If you’re after a really quiet beach, this might be a little too much. The sea was very calm and shallow for most of our stay, the last couple of days there were some small waves. Anavana has its own sunbeds (about a dozen) and there is always one available - guests don’t put a towel down on sunbeds they don’t want and the resort is pretty small anyway so there’s sufficient supply. This is great. The beach guy sorts you out with towels and water etc and the barman will bring drinks and/or food to your lounger. We didn’t use the pool much. It’s ok - smallish and pretty - but if you prefer pool to beach then I’d say maybe Anavana isn’t ideal. Rooms: each bungalow seems to be a one-bed with an extra daybed that probably can accommodate an extra person. Comfy beds, nice shower. Though the shower tray which was also a sunken bath did not look appealing for a bath! Neighbourhood: the lobby of the resort is on the main Chaweng Road. There is a useful 7-11 convenience store next door with an ATM and also a pharmacy. And a good massage place opposite. We headed south for some good restaurants (like Jam, Penderi, Benzo Sushi and the PizzaPasta place opposite). But there are thousands of good places to eat and drink if you head north on the main road. Neighbourhood feels safe. Massages: great beach massages right by the resort! Special mention to Nathalia who gave my wife her daily relaxing massage on the beach. Oh, and the resort has two kayaks and a paddleboard that are available for guests to borrow, gratis. Useful! What would I change? Next time we come to Kohl’s Samui, we might go to a quieter, more “idyllic” beach. But frankly, we’re fussy and were very happy at Anavana. A huge thank you by the way to any staff reading this review - their kindness and care made such a beautiful experience.
We stayed at the Anavana Beach Resort for 6 nights in August 2024. We had a sensationally wonderful time at this resort. The bungalows are located in a beautiful tropical garden. The pool is also in this garden. There is even a whirlpool. All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant tastes excellent. We can also highly recommend the massages on the beach. The beach is incredibly beautiful. Although the hotel is on Chaweng Beach, this section of the beach is very quiet. The resort even offers its guests private tours for snorkeling or to explore the island. We really had a perfect stay here and hope that we will come back to Anavana in the future.

Very characteristic resort, equipped with very beautiful and well-kept cottages immersed in very well-kept vegetation. Very convenient access to the sea a few meters away from the cottages and the restaurant. Staff always with a smile, very friendly and available for any need. Good variety and taste in breakfast. Upon request to celebrate a birthday we were offered a very pleasant and exclusive dinner on the beach. Highly recommended!

Amazing little hotel at the quiet part of Chaweng beach. From the moment you enter hotel for the first time, you start feeling like you are at home. All staff is very kind and caring. Houses are in Thai style and very beautiful and super clean. Grounds are an oasis of green. Hotel us right on the beach and beach is pristine. My youngest daughter had a birthday during our stay and hotel made her a small cake and everyone sang her a happy birthday. Simply heart warming. We really did not want to leave. If you are going to Samui it’s the best place you can find. We are already looking forward to go back there. Thank you so much Anavana team for making our stay with you so incredible ❤️

Samui chose Annavana for the last three days. Hotels in Chaweng are generally expensive because there are two children. There is a massage bed in the room to sleep on, but children over 4 years old need to pay extra regardless of whether they add an extra bed or not. 9 It costs 350 pigs for breakfast for 14 years old and 2000 pigs for an extra bed for 14 years old. In fact, it just helps you lay out the massage bed, not giving you an extra bed! Because we three kids gave us a discount. The room is very clean and has essential oil on the floor. It's no problem to go barefoot. The independent cabin is quiet. The breakfast is relatively simple and not worth the extra money for the child's breakfast. The swimming pool is small but very interesting. This beach is clean and beautiful, and you can swim and surf. , go north and there are some marine projects to play.
This beautiful resort really has it all, from super comfortable beds and gorgeous bungalows, to spotless tropical gardens, a beautiful swimming pool, restaurant with beach views with an enviable menu for all meals, to the bar location and excellent cocktails, evening entertainment, peaceful location, beach lounge chairs always ready with towels - this is one of the best. I also cannot say enough good things about all the staff, everyone is dedicated to ensuring that your time is the best and makes you feel like family. Very well managed with efficiency and class, we can't wait to return.

We as a family have being coming to this resort for the last 12 years.We obviously rate Anavana really highly.We have got to know the staff on a personal basis and its become like our holiday home.The service is impeccable and the resort is out of this world.We plan to go back again next year as usual.
We spent 2 weeks at Anavana in June. We had previously stayed at Poppies 4 times (last visit in 2018) and were not sure if it would be as good as previously. However, the resort is still as good as it was and we had an amazing holiday The resort is made up of 24 Thai style cottages which are set within tropical gardens that lead down to the white sands of Chaweng beach. All of the cottages are identical and all are about 1 minutes walk to the beach. The resort is at the far end of Chaweng so the beach is very quiet and perfect for a relaxing holiday. The location is perfect for local shops and restaurants all of which are in walking distance or there are loads of cheap songthaews or taxis available if you want to venture further around the Island. The staff are all very pleasant and do their best to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Special mention to Lek who brightens up breakfast as well as Lily and Pook in the spa. The guys in the bar/beach also made sure we had everything we needed on the beach.
We stayed 5 days at Anavana Beach Resort (2 connecting cottages which is a great advantage when staying with kids !). This resort really deserves it's 5 stars review score. This was our number 1 most preferred location during the entire visit to Thailand in July24, and we can only highly recommend ! Above all, we will remember forever the kind and very helpfull staff working at Anavana, but also cleanless of the cottages, quite location in such a beautiful green environment with direct connection to the beach. We loved the great Thai food at breakfast with plenty of choices, as well as in the restaurant in the evening for dinner, including music shows, and Thai dance demo's. The location of the Resort on Koh Samui is great for doing island tours and other trips. It is not far from busy Chaweng Beach, but the area of Anavana is very quite, and the sea is perfect for swimming.

We loved our stay at Anavana, previously know asPoppies. We went as a family so our boys got their own cottage which was niceand close to ours, but far away enough to give us our privacy. From the momentwe entered we were treated like family. Ami the Front Office Manager made usfeel so welcome and every staff member was helpful, friendly and always wentout of their way to may our stay one to remember.We loved that it was a smallboutique hotel and you were more than a number. Our boys LOVED the buffetbreakfast and that the beach was so close. We could relax on the deck chairs onthe sand, being looked after by staff, a short walk to loads of restaurants,shops and of course the best massages. Definitely recommend.
Liked: The hotel is in a very Thai style, surroundedby greenery, the bungalows are large and comfortable. The bathroom and showerare a separate work of art! The best of all my stays in several differenthotels and bungalows. This is an excellent Thai style, interior, stones andgreenery with lighting and aroma candles - this is a huge plus for the hotel.Very comfortable bed! There is a lot of space in the room; if desired, you canplace a 3rd guest (for example, a child) on the ottoman. Calming music playseverywhere, the staff greets you and smiles when you meet them. Service: on thebeach they give 2 towels per sunbed, so that your legs also feel comfortable onthe towel (usually if there is 1, then your legs are on a bare sunbed, which isnot comfortable). I really liked it. Very tasty breakfasts with an abundance offruits, mango, dragon fruit, papaya, pineapples - everything was always inunlimited supply. The location is ideal, this is our 2nd time in Samui and the2nd time we choose this area for the following reasons: the sea is super clearand gentle, the sand is soft and white, the entrance is gentle, there is nonoise and there are no boats and water scooters, but at the same time to theparties, clubs, night market and Central Samui Shopping Center, it’s aleisurely 15-20 walk, which wasn’t annoying, but you can also take a tuk-tuk,which runs frequently.
I booked a verycost-effective hotel for a vacation with friends. Overall, it is very beautifuland a relaxing place. The whole hotel is small and exquisite, with smallbridges and flowing water, and many fat koi in it. It has a traditional Thaistyle. Although it is not very new, the single room is clean, tidy, dry andcool. It is very close to the beach, and the beach is right outside therestaurant. The sand on Chaweng Beach is very fine and gentle, suitable for swimming.The service staff are very good, proactive and enthusiastic, and they also helpsolve small problems. The hotel is in a good location, with 711 and a fruitstall at the door, and a massage chicken opposite. Very convenient. Recommendeveryone to stay! !

The hotel has exceptionally beautiful gardens. In the restaurant you can sit very nicely and eat well. The beach is cleaned every day and it is fantastic for swimming. The bathroom is very nice and has an open area with plants. The staff and the hotel manageress are so nice and helpful. We booked a half-day tour through the hotel, which was very nice. Due to the remote location it was very quiet.

We had the most wonderful 8 night stay at Anavana Beach Resort last month. We have been visiting Poppies Koh Samui for many years and were very sad when it closed. We were a little nervous about booking now that it has new owners but I'm pleased to report that everything we loved about Poppies - the beautiful, tranquil gardens,the friendly efficient service, the excellent standard of housekeeping anddelicious food - really everything - is the same (and the price point is evenbetter now). if you loved Poppies - make sure you visit. It's still the amazingplace you know and love. Cannot wait to return.

Beautiful facilitywith local plants and birds, like in a small jungle. The facility is maintainedand maintained regularly. Cottages are spacious, we especially liked the semiopen bathroom. It has enough beach chairs on the beach, which makes the morningreservation really unnecessary. The staff are very welcoming and helpful.

Overall one of the best stays I ever had in a similar resort like this !! theLocation was just perfect for me! On the "quiet side" of Samui butnevertheless with all comodities around the hotel ! Breakfast very goodalthough stated "just" continental included but it was more than that... with additional local dishes, just eggs extra ... but that was no problemfor me!

We did not stay at this hotel. But we ate here tonight. And it was absolutely beautiful, including a live band. Definitely recommend if you are on the beach! They have different events each night and on Wednesday night the musicians were great!
The most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed in! Excellent service, gorgeous views and wonderful accommodations. The staff is kind and helpful and the beach access is a dream. Complimentary ride to the airport is included, and happy hour is every night from 5-7pm. I sincerely hope to be back very soon!
We liked very much. We stayed in 4 places in Thailand and this one was our favorite. Very clean, good service, nice pool and I loved little details: candles with aromas, very good and natural bath products, comfy bed, good towels and slippers. I loved the beach bag! Restaurant a little bit expensive, but the food was good. Also, the location is good, several restaurants and stores there. I will really recommend the resort!
We were there for the third time (twice during Poppies times) and are totally happy, that also as Anavana it is still the same great hotel as before. Very well-kept and beautiful hotel facility, great beach, great food and as before the friendliest and most attentive staff ever. We will definitely come back next year!
It's a forest-style hotel. The restaurant is so beautiful to take pictures of. It's on the beach and the swimming pool is right next to you. It's small but exquisite! There are no mosquitoes in the room with such dense woods and flowers. They will help you light the incense early and make your stay so comfortable! It is also very convenient to go out and play,and it is relatively close to everywhere!
